Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost to fix my problem?

Every job's different - a tripping safety switch on a 1960s board is a different job to a new build. We check it out first, then give you a clear price before we touch anything. No guessing, no surprises on the invoice.

Do you charge for a site inspection or quote?

Yes - $45 to come out and have a proper look, so we can give you an accurate price. If you go ahead with the job, that $45 comes straight off the total. It's just so we can price it right the first time, rather than guessing over the phone.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yep - fully licensed A-Grade electrician (REC 35692), with public liability cover. Every job's compliant with Australian Standards, not just “good enough".

Do you offer emergency or same-day service?

We aim to get to urgent jobs - no power, sparking, tripping switchboards - same day wherever we can. Give us a call and we'll tell you straight up what's possible for your job.

What areas do you service?

We cover Melbourne's north-east corridor. If you're not sure whether that includes your suburb, just give us a call - takes two minutes to check.

Do I need to be home for the inspection?

For the initial look, yeah - we'll need access to the switchboard and wherever the issue is. For bigger jobs we'll let you know exactly what access we need up front.

How long does a typical job take?

Depends what it is - a safety switch swap might be an hour, a full switchboard upgrade could be most of a day. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote so you're not left wondering.

Do you offer any warranty on your work?

Yes - all our work's backed by our life-time warranty on workmanship, along with standard manufacturers warranty and all necessary/relevant electrical compliance certification, so you've got it on paper, not just our word.

Can you upgrade an old fuse box or switchboard?

Absolutely - it's one of the most common jobs we do, especially in older Melbourne homes. We'll assess what's there and quote you before any work starts.

Do you provide fixed upfront pricing?

Yes. We believe in being upfront from the start. You'll receive fixed pricing before any work begins, so there are no hidden surprises.

Do you install EV chargers?

Yes - residential EV charger installs are part of what we do, done to spec and fully compliant. Happy to talk through what suits your setup.

Can you install downlights or upgrade my old lighting?

Yep - downlight installs, LED upgrades, and swapping out old fittings are all things we do regularly. We'll check your ceiling space and existing wiring first to make sure it's done safely, then quote you.

Do you fix flickering lights or power points that don't work?

Yes - those are usually signs of a loose connection or a bigger fault behind the scenes. We'll track down what's actually causing it rather than just patching the symptom.

Can you add extra power points to a room?

Definitely - whether it's for a home office, workshop, or just not enough points in a room, we can add circuits or points where you need them. We'll have a look at your switchboard capacity first to make sure it's done properly.

Are your power points and switches compliant with current standards?

Yes - anything we install meets current Australian Standards, and if we find non-compliant wiring while we're there, we'll flag it so you know what you're dealing with.

Does this sound familiar?

✅ Your safety switch or breaker keeps tripping, and you're not sure why.

✅ Lights are flickering, or power points just stop working.

✅ Your exhaust fan is noisy, doesn't work properly, or you don't have one at all.

Don't worry, we can help!

We'll find the real cause, sort it properly, and make sure your home's electrics are safe - not just patched over.

Hey, I'm Supreet Sangha!

I started Mindful Electrical just over two years ago because I wanted to hold every job to the standard I was taught coming up as a sparky - proper workmanship, no shortcuts.

There's a part of this job I never get tired of: walking into someone's home and making it genuinely safer for their family. Between that and the physics behind how it all actually works, it's the closest thing to feeling like Superman I've found in any trade.
